SUAI at Workshop on Game Theory

December 7th the Faculty of liberal arts and sciences of St. Petersburg University and Dr. Aleksei Savvateev held a Workshop on game theory to bring together researchers of mathematics, economics, statistics and linguistics.

The Workshop transformed into a multidisciplinary dialogue, with many fields of research involved. SUAI’s participants Doctor of Economics Konstantin Losev and PhD in Philology Marina Chikhanova, both from the Faculty of Humanities, promoted SUAI’s science in the discussion.

Doctor Savvateev spoke about the history of game theory and its application in many well-known disciplines. For example, game theory helped in optimization of road traffic and auction biddings. Both liberal arts and technical disciplines are able to include dame theory components in research and studies.

SUAI Opens Cosmostart Forum 2020

SUAI Opens Cosmostart Forum 2020

The pan-Russian Cosmostart Forum on space technologies started on December 3rd 2020. The studio and online-platform brought together researchers, cosmonauts, students, pupils and spectators from all over Russia.

Opened by SUAI’s Rector Yulia Antokhina at the SUAI’s Boiling Point Center, the Forum saw online and offline guests during the broadcast.

The Director General of Roscosmos Dmitry Rogozin, the Vice-Governor of St. Petersburg Vladimir Kniaginin and other industry and administration honorable speakers talked on tendencies in space technologies and wished success to the participants.

In the next 2 days the Cosmostart Forum will see workshops and master-classes by leading experts and the Art-therapy charity project: development of a spacesuit cover designed with pictures by children ill with oncology.

SUAI at e-Stars 2020 Summit

December 1, 2020 SUAI took part in the 3rd e-Stars Summit, organized by HSE and Coursera global education program.

e-Stars 2020 Summit brought together education experts and university leaders to discuss digital economics issues in international education. SUAI’s Rector Yulia Antokhina and Vice-Rector for International Affairs

Konstantin Losev joined the debates on challenges for universities during the pandemic. Among the topics are:

  • Combination of profound and fundamental education facing the tendency of shorter formats of teaching sessions;
  • Efficient managing schemes for digital transformation;
  • Global regional and local changes in educational system under new digital technologies;
  • Key fields to concentrate on for a successful university.

A round table on new vectors of education by Zoya Zaitseva was a headliner of the summit, talking about current criteria for good positions in QS World University Rankings. Year 2020 has modified some of the traditional approaches to evaluation of education, with growing importance of distant training and online educational programs in English.

SUAI at IV Workshop on Lodging and Adaptation Issues for International Students

November 27, 2020 the Association of International students supported by the Government of the Russian Federation held the IV workshop on Lodging and Adaptation Issues for International Students to discuss government initiatives in training international students.

SUAI’s Rector Yulia Antokhina and Vice-Rector for International Affairs Konstantin Losev met their colleagues from leading Russian universities to find solutions on lodging and adaptation of international students during the pandemic. The leaders of Russian international education searched for suggestions to be sent to the State Duma and to the Government.

The new reality under pandemic restrictions brought changes in educational process, migration legislation, and adaptation activities. The participants had to decide how to keep traditions of Russian higher education while remaining compatible at the international market.

Even in 2020 the number of international students in Russian universities increased, stated the experts from governmental science and education structures. The universities received recommendations on individual approach in adaptation, building schedules and creating a long-term education under pandemic restrictions.

SUAI at “Increasing Competitiveness of Russian Higher Education: Analysis of Best Practices in Education Promotion Industry” Conference

November 26, 2020 the Increasing Competitiveness of Russian Higher Education: Analysis of Best Practices in Education Promotion Industry Conference was held within the Export of Education Federal Project.

Among other leading universities’ leaders SUAI’s Vice-Rector for International Affairs Konstantin Losev participated in the conference to discuss ways of reaching the Project’s goals. SUAI, an active participant of the initiative, focuses on increasing its international ranking positions.

In the Plenary Session the participants talked on internalization, export of education, recruitment of foreign students during the pandemic, regional and profile peculiarities when promoting national education.

After the Session SUAI’s Vice-Rector worked at discussion sections where the internationalists exchange opinions on increasing Russian universities’ competitiveness, foreign students adaptation and role of marketing for educational programs promotion.
