Opening of International Week "Knowledge Economy: Challenges and Opportunities"

September 17, 2018 Opening of the International Week "Knowledge Economy: challenges and opportunities" was held by the Institute of Entrepreneurship Technologies.

The ceremony started with greeting speeches by the SUAI Rector, Doctor of Economics Yulia A. Antokhina and the Head of the Institute of Entrepreneurship Technologies, Doctor of Economics Artur S. Budagov.

The Vice-Rector for International Affairs, Doctor of Economics Konstantin V. Losev and the Vice-Rector for Educational Technologies and Innovative Activities Vladislav F. Shislakov also attended the ceremony to meet faculty from Hungary, Germany, Poland, Serbia, Switzerland, France, Spain and Russia.

Chinese Aerospace at SUAI

Science and education at SUAI with its training programs are widely appreciated by both Russian and international authorities in the field. Another proof of it became a September 12 visit by a Chinese delegation of the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation headed by Zang Xiaohua.

The delegation was greeted by the SUAI Vice-Rector for International Affairs Konstantin V. Losev, the Head of the International Cooperation Sub-Department Yulia V. Makarova and the Deputy Director of the Department of Operation and Control of Aerospace Systems Sergei G. Burlutsky.

The parties talked on cooperation in education and science.

Another Step Forward in SUAI-LG Cooperation

September 4th, 2018 SUAI welcomed LG Electronics Inc. and LG Display Co. Ltd. delegation of Kang In-Byeong, the Executive Vice-President of CTO LGD, Yoon Soo Young, the Senior Vice-President at the Research Institute, Choi Hyun Chul, the Vice-President of LGD, Min Woong Kee, the LG TCM Director, and other LG R&D administration.

SUAI was represented by Yulia A. Antokhina, the Rector of SUAI, Konstantin V. Losev, the Vice-Rector for International Affairs, Aleksey V. Rabin, the Head of the SUAI Center for Research Coordination, Andrey M. Turlikov, the Director of the SUAI Institute of Information Systems and Information Security (№5), with other faculty.

The meeting saw presentations on R&D by the Institute №5 and LG digital technologies promoting mutual understanding and increased cooperation between the parties.

Day of Knowledge 2018 at SUAI: New Page for Freshmen

On the last day of summer SUAI traditionally celebrates day of knowledge. The traditional venue of the event at Lensoveta Street was flooded with freshmen newcoming to celebrate their first university academic year.

The guests enjoyed interactive stands by SUAI art studios, participating in the improvised scientific demonstrations, making paper planes and constructing a jenga tower together. The freshmen met the faculty, administration and future mates, encouraged by seniors.

The official ceremony started with a dedication to FIFA World Cup 2018 followed with the welcome speech by the SUAI Rector Yulia A. Antokhina and the Vice-Governor of St. Petersburg Konstantin N. Serov.

The Empress Catherine II traditionally handed the keys of the Chesma Palace to the freshmen. Fireworks and dancing closed the celebration.

SUAI at VK FEST 2018

SUAI at VK FEST 2018

The brightest open-air festival of the summer witnessed SUAI students’ best achievements and advances.

VK FEST brings together music, games, educational activities, exhibitions and proactive talented young people.

Students made demonstrations of their inventions. The Space Show by SUAI impressed the guests with flight simulators, autonomous greenhouses and mobile applications. Among other developments ANTARES, a robot that greeted people, watching guests and teaching them to dance, became a true love of the fest.

Guests involved were awarded memorable gifts making them remember: science can be a lot of fun.
